Abstract

We follow from the first years of life a girl who presented since birth a comedo nevus with cystic and suppurative recurrent lesions of the left forearm. In the first 2 years of life she also suffered from a mild atopic dermatitis (AD) initially localized on the face and later on the flexion surface of the elbows and knees. We visited again the patient when aged 8 due to the presence of itchy lesions on the dorsal aspect of the hands, on both the flexion and extension surface of the elbows and only on the flexion surface of the knees. Her mother told us that the lesions had started in May of the previous year and recurred in May of the current year. On physical examination, there were close but not confluent papular lesions, some excoriated, not only on the dorsal aspect of the hands and the extension surface of the elbows (Fig. 3, 4), but also on the flexion surface of the elbows (Fig. 3) and knees (Fig. 5). The final diagnosis was recurrent summer papular eruption of the elbows associated wit AD.
