Abstract

Down's syndrome is an extensively researched congenital condition characterized by mental retardation and distinct physical features. Down's syndrome is rarely associated with psoriasis. However, almost all patients with this association show specific clinical features of thick-plaque extensive disease with poor prognosis. Biochemical abnormalities of impaired cAMP/cGMP ratio are related to early-age onset and accelerated aging in all cases. Herein, a trisomy-21 patient with early-onset thick-plaque psoriasis is described, emphasizing the importance of future studies to associate psoriasis genotype with phenotype.
